Actions needed to reduce pharmaceutical emissions in the Baltic Sea region

Since 2017 CWPharma project has worked to gather data on the consumption of pharmaceuticals and their concentrations in the environment, to identify the most problematic compounds and to find the best ways to decrease their emissions to the environment. One of the key findings is that twelve out of 75 studied pharmaceuticals were identified as a risk to the environment. The Action Plan for reducing emissions highlights the need for combination of emission reduction schemes.
